Katie Pruitt is a Nashville transplant from the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. Although Pruitt hasn’t strayed far her southern roots, she is far from a southern belle. The young songwriter expresses herself openly and honestly and doesn’t care that she might offend you while she does it. Pruitt tends to tackle, what some would consider, controversial topics such as the questioning of religion, battling mental health issues, and contemporary love songs about a same sex relationship. Her passionate delivery and powerful message are the reason her name has begun to buzz around Nashville. Although she has tried her hand at producers, Pruitt’s strength truly lies in her live performance, so at the end of 2017 she teamed up with OurVinyl to capture 5 songs completely live in front of a studio audience.

In 2016 she humbly accepted the first annual BMI Songwriting Scholarship for her original song, “Ordinary.” This recognition then lead her to be the honored recipient of the Buddy Holly Prize in 2017, a prize previously awarded to the talents of Emily King and Ben Howard through the Songwriter Hall of Fame. Pruitt also made her way on the bill for the 2017 Pilgrimage festival alongside headliners, Justin Timberlake and Eddie Vedder.
